What is upGen

Enabling young change makers to jumpstart their social impact

The upGen Bootcamp is a social innovation competition for high school and CEGEP students between January 24 to January 26, 2022. This experience will teach young change-makers to build and launch sustainable businesses that have the potential to change the world.

For whom?

For young people who want to become change makers. Application-based and free for accepted participants; open to students aged 12 - 18.

Where?

Jan 24 - 26, hosted at Collège Durocher Saint Lambert in Montreal, Canada. The final pitches will be hosted at Shopify's office.

Outcome?

Prizes, coaching and mentorship will be awarded to the most impactful business solutions. Six teams will be invited to the upGen Accelerator.

The upGen Bootcamp challenges participants to create innovative solutions to the biggest social challenges facing various industries today, guided by the UN SDG framework.

This year, the upGen program is placing a focus on educating young people on how Artificial Intelligence can be used to solve social challenges - in an ethical manner. During the bootcamp, participants are expected to incorporate aspects of AI into their solutions.
