What is upGen?
The upGen Bootcamp is a 20 hour-long, immersive entrepreneurship competition for innovative high school & CEGEP students that will teach you how to build and launch sustainable businesses that have the potential to change the world.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop real-world skills as they work in teams with specialized roles required for a successful modern-day business, including: design, marketing, finance, product development, sales, finance.
The bootcamp will conclude with a pitch competition in which teams will present their business solutions to a panel of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. Three winning teams from upGen 2019 will be invited to join UpstartED's Incubator to continue developing their ideas between February and May under the guidance of some of the world’s leading companies.

The upGen Bootcamp is application-based & free for those accepted into the program. Open to students aged 12 - 18.
The upGen Bootcamp will take place between January 25th (5.30 pm) - January 27th, 2019 (6 pm).
The upGen Bootcamp will be taking place at Lower Canada College in Montreal, Canada.
The upGen pitches will be hosted at Shopify's office in Downtown Montreal.
All upGen participants will receive a certificate of completion. Three prizes will be awarded to the most innovative and impactful business solutions.

Learn the fundamentals behind starting up a business in a hands-on way
Students will be coached in current and relevant business methodologies that are used by the world's most innovative companies.
Connect with local entrepreneurs, companies and resources
Students will be mentored by experienced coaches from Montreal's leading companies, and will have the opportunity to connect to local resources that support budding entrepreneurs.
Expand one's network and collaborate with students from different backgrounds
Students will grow their network by connecting with equally ambitious peers from other schools, and gain skills needed to succeed as an entrepreneur, including: collaboration, creativity, resourcefulness, sense of responsibility, leadership, team spirit.
What will you experience over 20 hours?
upGen is an event unlike anything you've ever experienced. Some have likened it to a hackathon, while others have compared it to Shark Tank. We want you to think of upGen as one of the most intensive and hands on learning opportunities you can get while you're still in school. Get ready for the most challenging and most rewarding 20 hours of your life (so far)!
